Family Ministries

Recognizing the issues and challenges that parents and families face in an ever-changing world, Family Ministries strives to reinforce and encourage wholesome family relationships. We offer learning opportunities designed to enable parents make biblical values winsome to their children and the youth of our Church.  Together, families feel empowered to discover and utilize their spiritual gifts at WOC and in the community.

A variety of small group classes are continually offered.  Some are:

Growing Kids God's Way This is a comprehensive values based parenting curriculum.
This helps any parent reach the heart of their child with virtues that flow from the character of God.                            

101 Biblical Training  The distinct areas that are covered in this four week DVD series are: Growing in Wisdom, Growing in Stature, Growing in Favor with God, and Growing in Favor with Man.

Shepherding a Child’s Heart  This book study is about how to speak to the heart of your child.  It provides for perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life.

Boundaries for Kids  Learn when to say yes, when to say no, and how to help your children
gain control of their lives in this study.

Preparing for Parenthood  This DVD study provides a prescription for responsible parenting.
This infant management plan naturally helps infants daily cycles of sleep, feeding, and wake times.

Faith Begins at Home Learn how to establish your home as the primary place where faith is nurtured.  Learn how a family can put Christ at the center of their busy lives.

How to be a Hero to Your Kids This is a 6-point biblically-based “recipe” for positive parenting that can transform you into a real hero to your kids.

Parenting is Heart Work This series gives you the practical tools and easy-to-follow steps that will help you turn correction times into learning experiences.  You will learn how to maintain relationships with your children through love and emotional connectedness.

Homes of Honor  Discover what type of parent you are, discover your child’s personality type, discover how to over come the major destroyer of families, and learn how to develop a close knit family in this video driven series.

Parental Guidance Required This is a DVD study about how to enhance, advance, and influence your children’s relationships.
