Ice Skating at World Outreach Church

Come and skate with family and friends. There is no charge, but anyone on the ice will be required to fill out a waiver before participating. Anyone under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian (please see specifics regarding waivers for those under 18). The rules and schedule are posted on this page (below). Check back here for the latest as there may be changes. The entrance is outside Fellowship Square on the side of the church facing Highway 99.

The Rules

  1. Enter the ice at your own risk.
  2. Waivers required for everyone on the ice for each session. Those under the age of 18 are required to have a signed waiver by a parent or legal guardian. Signatures by parent or legal guardian must be witnessed at check-in, or notarized when presented.
  3. Under 3 years of age NOT allowed on ice. Smallest skate is SIZE 9 double blade.
  4. No animals allowed on the ice.
  5. Comply with ALL instructions given by skate guards and ice rink staff.
  6. World Outreach Church reserves the right to evacuate or close the rink at any time.
  7. World Outreach Church is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. Secure all personal items.
  8. Immediately report any unsafe conditions to the skate guards or ice rink staff.
  9. No resting items or sitting on top of the dasher boards.
  10. Kicking or digging at the ice is prohibited.
  11. No figure skating, spins, jumps, or games such as tag and keep-away.
  12. Socks must be worn with skates.
  13. Skates are required to enter the ice during official skate times – no street shoes or bare feet allowed.
  14. Skaters must enter and exit slowly and carefully in the designated locations.
  15. Skate in the correct direction only, and maintain a reasonable and safe speed at all times.
  16. Be cautious of small children, and do not carry them on the ice.
  17. No food, drinks, cell phones, firearms, or other foreign objects allowed on ice.
  18. Photographs and videotape of participants and audience at World Outreach Church events may be used by World Outreach Church for promotional purposes without consent or compensation.

FAQ

Are waivers required to participate on the ice rink?

  • Waivers are required for ANYONE who plans to enter the skate area or ice rink.
  • Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver.
  • A new signed waiver is required with each skate session.
  • If a parent or legal guardian is not available to register a minor, then they can bring a signed waiver notarized by a licensed notary.
  • Waivers are available at the church office Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. In addition, you can pick up waivers during weekend services times at the skate center info desk. Waivers will also be available at the time of the skate session at the ice rink check-in station.

Can I bring my grandchildren, neighbor’s children, friends of my children, etc.?
You can bring children under the age of 18 with you, but you have to have a signed (and notarized) waiver with the parents or legal guardian’s signature – no exceptions.

Can I come to skate anytime?
Please refer to the calendar for weekly availability. A new schedule will be posted here each week and on the World Outreach Church Facebook account.

Can I bring my pet or service animal on the ice?
No animals are allowed on the ice. This is a safety issue for both the animals and others on the ice.

Can I skate for multiple sessions in one day?
Yes, you can skate during multiple sessions in a day, but a waiver is required with each session.

Can I schedule a birthday party or private event?
No, private events are programmed through World Outreach Church for ministry purposes. All other ice rink availability will be used for public “Open” skate sessions.

Where is the best place to park in order to access the skate rink?
Parking area B is the best place to park. Refer to map below.

How do I enter the skate area?
The only place you can enter the skate area is the main stairway on the porch outside of Fellowship Square. Please refer to map above.

Is there special clothing that I should wear?
Sometimes clothing does matter. Keep in mind, this is an outside event. Gloves or mittens are recommended. Socks are required. An extra pair of socks are helpful in case skates sizes don’t match up exactly.

Where do I store my shoes while skating?
You can leave your shoes under the benches in the skate area. Only people who are skating or have signed a waiver will be allowed in this area.

Am I required to wear a helmet?
No, you are not required to wear a helmet, but you can if you are uncertain of your skill level. Skating is a fun and exciting sport. As with any sport, there are risks involved. Please refer to the waiver for more details.

Do you have lockers where I can leave my valuables?
No, we do not have a secure place to leave valuable items. Please leave anything important in a locked car or secure place.

Can I bring my own skates?
Yes, you can bring your own skates.

Are skate sizes the same as shoe sizes?
No, usually skates size are about 1 size smaller than your regular shoe size, and there are no half sizes.

Where are the nearest restrooms?
Restrooms will be available in the facility, and you can access the facility by entering the doors on the upper porch level.

Can I drop my child off and leave during a skate session?
World Outreach Church does not provide monitoring for a minor, and it is strongly encourage that a parent or legal guardian does not leave a child unattended.

Is the skate rink open during inclement weather?
In most cases, the skate rink sessions will be closed during rain or heavy snow. In the case of inclement weather and session closings, you can refer back to this page or World Outreach Church Facebook for schedule availability and changes.
