We are excited to announce that incoming 6th grade students will be promoted directly from the Children’s Ministry to Student Ministry in August. Here’s what this means:

  • We changed our name!
Junior High Service will now be called Middle School Service.
  • On Wednesday nights:
After children are promoted in August, all incoming 6th grade students will attend Middle School Service on Wednesdays. To help ease this transition, 6th grade students will be in small groups with other 6th grade students. As usual, 7th and 8th grade students will combine for small groups.
  • On Saturdays and Sundays:
All incoming 6th grade students will attend regular church services with their families.

A few years ago, we recognized our 6th graders were ready to learn more and engage with their faith at a deeper level, so we created a special section of Children’s Ministry just for them. After observing their maturity level and their ability to consume and understand a higher level of spiritual content, we believe 6th graders are ready to step into our Middle School Service. Since many of our 6th graders are moving to Middle School in their school lives, there’s a sense of comfort and consistency that comes with making this change at church, as well.

It is our prayer and expectation that this change will help each of our incoming 6th grade students engage more fully during worship, the message, and small group time—in an environment that meets their maturity level and needs.

Next Generation team members will be available to answer any questions before and after service in the following locations:

  • Wednesday, June 25: The Atrium
  • Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29: Upper Elementary area and the 6th grade lower level.

Our mission is to help children and youth become more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and we’re excited to see our incoming 6th graders continue to grow in their faith and flourish as they enter Middle School!
