On Wednesday, October 14, World Outreach Church will offer a special viewing of A Great Awakening, the 2026 movie based on the true story of the unlikely friendship between English pastor George Whitefield and American patriot Benjamin Franklin.

“Before the American Revolution, there was a Revelation….”
Set in the 1730s during one of Whitefield’s American preaching tours, the movie portrays the role the famed preacher and his fiery sermons played in influencing Franklin and igniting The Great Awakening. This expansive expression of Christian faith in the 1730s and 1740s is credited by many with sparking the fervor that led to the American Revolution.
The movie begins at 6:30pm in Three Crosses Sanctuary, and it takes the place of our regular Wednesday evening service. Childcare will be available for children from birth through 3-years-old, and our Middle School and High School groups will meet in their usual spaces that night. The movie runs about two hours and nine minutes.
This unticketed event is free, and it provides a wonderful opportunity to invite family and friends to join you at church for an entertaining and enlightening evening.
